5 tips to get you ready for the next chapter of your life now that you're single.

So you’re single and ready to mingle. Well, join the club love! With no sight of this pandemic ending anytime soon, you’ll probably have to put your dating life on hold or just reduce it by like...50 percent. I mean you could go on a dating app and have some fun, but how is that really going to bring you to the goals you have. Before you go get back out there and get back on the horse, here’s a few tips to get you to take care of yourself and back into the dating life safely.

Start working on your ideal body goals

The relationship weight can be so cute when you first started dating your now ex. Now that you are single there’s sooo much time for you to start eating right again and get rid of the honeymoon snacks you’ve been carrying around in your body.

And Let’s be clear this is in no way shape or form about him or her. This about making sure that while you get back in the dating pool, or move forward professionally, you reclaim your confidence and do what’s best for your body. Whether you want to lose weight or tone up the thickness a little, don't hesitate, ELEVATE!

They say shopping is the best medicine

Obviously right now times are a little rough, to be single and according to statics, you might even be unemployed. No worries! Sell some old clothes instead and split your profit between the things you absolutely need and buying a new wardrobe you’ll absolutely love. Since we can’t leave the house much, invest in some great at-home pieces that will make your next Insta story pop! I recently bought some new work out clothes myself and let me tell you I’ve never been more motivated to workout. Like EVER!

You can’t be a boss without making boss moves

Have you always wanted to start a business, a vlogging channel, or just take some extra classes but couldn’t? There’s nothing more powerful than a human listening to themselves and doing as they pleased. It’s never too late to start making your dreams come true and they only ever will, when you get off that couch and work on them. Being at home means you are spending less money so budget, plan and create the life you've always dream of having. AND I REPEAT, it’s about you, not them. I mean sure you can flex once in a while since he/she might Insta stalk you anyways. BUT BABY GIRL just do you! And that’s on POWER MOVES!

Take time to reflect and meditate

The short time I’ve spent single over the past few months have truly been enlightening. With the help of my life coach, my friends, and family, I was able to access my strength and weaknesses and it led me here today.

Sometimes we move through life so fast that we forget to take a second to think about where we are and how we got there. Before it goes down in your DM’s, ensure that mentally and internally you are at peace. Here are some ways I’ve been meditating and healing:

  • Journal

  • Working out

  • Working on my crafts (drawing, dancing, singing, writing)

  • Meditating

  • Praying

Whether you believe in a higher being or not, take some time to speak to the universe and its creator. Believe me, you’ll feel much better!

Make a self-care plan that works for YOU and follow trough!

I cannot stress enough how important it is for you to find time to love yourself. Now more than ever is the best time to sit down, come up with a self-care goal and plan, most importantly follow through. I mean you literally cannot run away from your problems anymore, unless you do it while wearing a mask. Now that you are single you can only depend on yourself to make you happy, pick you up when you’re down, and give yourself some love. The most important relationship you’ll ever have is the one you have with yourself. So start having it!

Being single can be such a fun and sexy time, yes replace your ex but only when the time is right. After you’ve accomplished your goals, learn to be alone, and learn to love yourself, the new boo thang will just be a plus to your new bad b!tch life. Until then, it doesn’t hurt to window shop... just a little!
